Post-Conference Excursion 29th August, 0900-1500
This post-conference excursion is a bus tour, which includes visits to famous sightseeing spots in Kanazawa.
Excursion starts from the ANA Hotel Kanazawa at 09:00 and returns to the hotel at 15:00.
Please attend the excursion with a small sum of maney:\1,700/person for admission fees and light cloths for the summer heat.

Enjoy a walk as you like with the area map and a Japanese box lunch for 2 hours.

Kenroku-en Garden

Kenrokuen is known as one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan. It is called Kenrokuen because it combines the six attributes(kenroku) that a garden should have:spaciousness, seclusion, human ingenuity, antiquity, water and panoramic views. It contains roughly 12,000 trees of 150 varieties, which achieve beautiful harmony with the garden's meandering streams, ponds and bridges.

Ishikawa-mon Gate Kanazawa Castle Park

Kanazawa Castle has been the residential castle of the Maeda family since Toshiie Maeda first entered the castle in 1583 and basic fortifications began. Finally, over a period of 3 years and 4 months from March 1998, three structures Hishi-yagura, Gojikken-nagaya and Hashizumemon Tsuzuki-yagura were restored. They are the largest scale wooden castle structures built since the Meiji era in Japan.

Temple

Touring the temple and Karakuri dolls’ performance

Visitors can enjoy the story of Tamahime played with fancy dolls inside the temple. Tamahime was the wife of Toshitsune Maeda, the 3rd lord of this area in Edo period. Though their marriage was arranged politically, they were a happy couple and had 3 sons and 4 daughters in their short marriage.She died when she was 24 years old, but is still respected as the symbol of a happy marriage and happy home blessed with children.
